Love Circular is a platform that helps designers, software and data engineers level up their skills and incomes. They train talent and place them in real-world tech roles. Students earned $30M in annual salaries in 2024.
Students bounced between Mighty Networks (course modules), Slack & Discord (community chat), Zoom and Google Meets links (live sessions), and a Notion archive (recorded work sessions). It worked, but it was a bit of a mess.
With a pre-seed raise on the horizon, we needed a single platform that could host lessons, live streams, and real-time notifications so learners could focus on learning, not link-hunting. Investors pressed about our IP and ability to scale; this was the stepping stone to building that.
A learning platform built with Next.js, Vercel, and Supabase.
The MVP included student dashboards, course modules, and embedded live and recorded sessions using StreamYard.
Students could log in, join live sessions, rewatch recordings, and track progress—all from one platform.
Design was responsive across mobile and web to reduce friction during onboarding and use.
The MVP never went public, as a £500k fundraising commit fell through and the company had to let go of staff.
Internal tests showed strong engagement, low churn, and high recurring usage from students.
Students reported improved learning experiences by having everything in one place instead of juggling multiple tools.
Building the MVP highlighted how a fully-owned learning environment improves retention and user satisfaction.
